Platinum rhodium thermocouple Advantages:

Platinum rhodium thermocouple has the highest accuracy, the best stability, wide temperature range, long service life and high temperature upper limit. It can be used in oxidizing and inert atmosphere, or in vacuum for a short time, but it is not suitable for reducing atmosphere or atmosphere containing metal or nonmetal vapor. An obvious advantage of type B thermocouple is that it does not need compensation wire because the thermal potential is less than 3 μ V in the range of 0 ~ 50 ℃.

The disadvantage of Pt Rh thermocouple is thermoelectric potential, small thermoelectric potential rate, low sensitivity reading, low mechanical strength at high temperature, very sensitive to pollution, expensive precious metal materials, so a large one-time investment.

Working principle of Pt Rh thermocouple:

Platinum rhodium thermocouple is made up of two different components of conductor. When the temperature of two junction points is different, thermal current will be generated in the loop. If there is a temperature difference between the working end and the reference end of the thermocouple, the display instrument will indicate the temperature value corresponding to the thermoelectric potential generated by the thermocouple.

Selection of platinum rhodium thermocouple:

When the measured temperature is normal at 1000 ~ 1300 ℃, it is recommended to use single platinum rhodium thermocouple (Platinum Rhodium 10 platinum), and when the measured temperature is normal 1200 ~ 1600 ℃, it is recommended to use dual platinum rhodium thermocouple (platinum rhodium 30 platinum rhodium 6), so as to ensure the service life of platinum rhodium thermocouple within the temperature range used.
